The most useful and least expensive
household repair tool is the telephone.

Reflection
Isolation is an important component of all alcoholism.
This disease is like a mad, jealous lover who wants me
all to itself. It follows me, interrupts me, and stalks me,
and does not want me talking to those who would
want to help me. It implores me to remain incommu–
nicado: "Don't answer the phone; don't speak to any–
one; don't reach out — they will stop you from
drinking, and I, who love you and understand you, will
not take away your drink." That's disease jargon.
Affirmation
Let me thank my disease for sharing, and then let me
show it to the door as I answer my phone.
