Reflection for February 25

The three faults of drink are: a sorrowful morning,
a dirty coat, and an empty pocket.

—Irish proverb

Reflection

Most people of average intelligence are aware that los-
ing one's senses to drink or drugs can and does have
painful consequences, so they stop. The alcoholic
knows full well the losses to be endured, and yet will
or cannot stop.
We have amnesia brought on by a
siren's song . . .

Affirmation

As I awaken to a new day, may I be able to say "Thank
you or a good yesterday."
