Reflection for March 10

No man thoroughly understands a truth
until he has contended against it.

—Ralph Waldo Emerson

Reflection

When the truth is simply that we are murdering our-
selves with alcohol, the first thing, of course, is to deny
it. Therein is the first contention. When the landscape
becomes littered with the wreckage of my life, it might
occur to me that I should accept the truth and begin a
process of recovery.

Affirmation

If there is anything amiss in my life, may I accept the
truth of it and take action.
