Reflection for April 17

It is hard to fight an enemy
who has outposts in your head.

—Sally Kempton

Reflection

Our enemy in sobriety is negativity, which is the most
active limb of the disease of alcoholism. It will set up
an encampment on any terrain, and trains its guns on
our most vulnerable areas. Oddly enough, the best way
to defeat it is by not fighting it. Simply say, "Thank
you for your visit; now pack up and leave the grounds,
as I've got a lot of growing to do."

Affirmation

If I keep the doors of my mind open today, they will
not be battered down.
