The veteran army sergeant wasn't feeling well one night
and went to the doctor.
"When did you have a drink last?" the doctor asked.
"1955," the sergeant replied.
"That's a long time without a drink," sez the doctor.
"Sure is," sez the sergeant.
"It's nearly 2130 right now."
Reflection
Time is of no importance or consequence to the mind
when it's in the grip of the disease. One day morphs
into another, and hours are only important as they
concern the opening and closing hours of liquor stores
and saloons.
Affirmation
If on the twenty-four hour clock I am able to check off
the sober hours, I'm winning today.
